Position Summary
DevOps Engineer with leadership qualities to drive technology team to improve current set up. Performs development of high-performing, well-tested, and thoughtfully architected software applications that satisfy our internal business needs and power guest experiences. Has proven experience in effectively applying scientific, mathematical, and social principles to design, build, & maintain technology products, devices, systems, and solutions that provide amazing data governance experiences.
Essential Functions:
As a key member of the Platform Technology Team, you will be the primary individual responsible for engineering secure and scalable solutions as we expand our presence in cloud governance.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with all stakeholders to define DevOps processes and shape the development culture, ensuring alignment with and adherence to our QA process.
- Assists in the ongoing improvement of CI/CD environment provisioning and development of workflows using Collibra.
- Ensure that the appropriate levels of monitoring and alerting are set up for all applications across a mix of physical servers, private cloud, and public cloud.
- Develop software delivery solutions that align with Azure/AWS DevOps and industry best practices that meet defined usability, maintainability, scalability, and reliability requirements.
- Take ownership of assigned work, monitor, and maintain the health of solutions generated.
- Increase operating efficiency and adapt to new requirements of all software delivery pipelines.
- Triage and collaborate with development to solve software compiling (builds) issues.
- Create and maintain automated Azure/AWS DevOps pipelines, weaving in all other testing frameworks.
- Provide task breakdowns, identity dependencies, and provide effort estimates.
- Identify software issues within the context of builds and communicate problems with the team.
- Assist in preparation of functional and technical documentation to provide guidance to end users and support troubleshooting.
- Investigate and resolve application build and pipeline failures recommending best practice resolution procedures to build and maintain a robust CI/CD delivery.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years as a DevOps Engineer or in any similar role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Master’s degree in the above fields preferred.
- Expertise in cloud computing, storage, and hosting functionality (i.e., cloud computing, storage, hosting functionality).
- Experience with data governance tools (Collibra, Informatica Axon, Erwin).
- Experience working in an environment that utilizes CI/CD processes is required.
- Experience developing or supporting Python and Node.js applications.
- Knowledge of source code control tools such as Git (GitLab, GitHub, BitBucket).
- Familiarity with Agile best practices.
- Experience with automated testing a plus.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop partnership-oriented relationships with business executives and functional leaders, especially as it relates to operations and technology.
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a focus on timeliness, documentation, and communications with peers and business users alike.
